My Story
Hello! I’m Liam, the artist behind Thrown Together Pottery Studio. My journey with clay began during my Fine Art degree at Newcastle University. I find clay to be a wonderful material for mental well-being due to its tactile nature, and I love how it can replicate textures. I create both functional and decorative ceramics, focusing on earthenware clay, especially terracotta, for its warmth and character. My work reflects the beauty of nature and the structures we create, blending organic forms with man-made designs.
Since completing my degree, I have exhibited my artwork in various exhibitions and worked at both a local pottery studio and a national art gallery. I founded Thrown Together Pottery to share my passion for ceramics and to create a space that inspires individuals to unleash their creativity. My aim is to build connections with like-minded people and engage in meaningful artistic experiences. Through workshops and unique creations, I hope to foster a sense of community and inspire appreciation for the beauty of handmade objects. My goal is to make pottery accessible and enjoyable for everyone, allowing each piece to tell its own story.
